The Museum of Satire and Caricature was inspired by the Political Satire Awards, which were organised by the �Citta Forte dei Marmi� foundation in 1973. Based inside the fort, the museum collects and preserves historical and contemporary satirical cartoons. The museum also houses a library with over 2500 books, an auditorium, satirical texts from the 18th and 19th centuries, and a multimedia archive.
