Situated in the Moroni Palace in Piazza del Duomo, the Archaeological Museum was created around 1960, thanks to the remains recovered by the Spelaeological and Archaeological Group of Versilia. The remains were discovered in sites such as Monte Lieto, the coast, Baraglino, Cafaggio, Bora dei Frati, Monte Altissimo, Levigliani and Pievecchia.
The museum is divided into four sections; the palaeontological section, the prehistoric section, the etruscan section and, most importantly, the ligurian section.
