Upon his death in 1973, Ugo Guidi, a versilian painter and sculptor, left a large number of unfinished sculptures and busts in his home studio. His house has since been turned into a museum and has received regular visits from Ernesto Treccani, Alfonso Gatto, Arndengo Soffici and Giovanni Papini.
Guidi also taught sculpting at the Academy of Fine Art at Carrara, between 1948 and 1976.
